Play-based learning, one mixed-age room

At Little Tree Playschool, children are understood to grow through play. Our play-based curriculum emphasizes exploration, creativity, and social emotional learning, so a child's unique strengths are celebrated and supported rather than ranked. The mission is to nurture a love for learning while fostering emotional well-being in a supportive, inclusive environment. Children are encouraged to express themselves and to build compassion for others, and that is the daily work here.

We run as a mixed-age group playschool, with one large classroom combining ages 2 through 5. The youngest explore alongside older peers, and the older children practice patience and helping. Teachers set out materials and let children choose, then step in with a question or a suggestion. Small moments—sharing a puzzle, waiting a turn on the swing—become the lessons in empathy, curiosity, and resilience.
